ebuild /var/db/pkg/net-www/bugzilla-2.17.6-r1/bugzilla-2.17.6-r1.ebuild config

Sue me, but my local development box doesn't have a root mysql password. The
config for bugzilla prompts for it, and exits if you enter blank. Why not just 
let mysql prompt for the password?

Heh - you're right.  To be honest, the bugzilla ebuild is a bit of a mess.  I'll try and tidy it up when I port it over to the new webapp-config tool.

In the meantime, I've made a change that (hopefully) fixes your problem.  Could you please take a look at -r2, and let me know if that works for you?  I can't test it locally at the moment :(
