this bug easier, please let me know. It's caused quite a bit a frustration for me. It happened once again. I managed to get access to another machine and putty into my machine. `htop` reported that X was maxing one of my 6 cores. Nicing it seemed to only increase the amount of CPU resources it used, so I had to kill it. Before killing it, I checked the Xorg.log file, and this was the only thing present: (EE) 13: X (WaitForSomething+0x11c) [0x58697c] (EE) 14: X (0x400000+0x3ad31) [0x43ad31] (EE) 15: X (0x400000+0x29f2d) [0x429f2d] (EE) 16: /lib64/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xed) [0x7fceefcc060d] (EE) 17: X (0x400000+0x2a2a1) [0x42a2a1] (EE) [893773.393] (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (1, 8, 0x8000, 0x0000265c, 0x000045fc) [893773.394] [mi] Increasing EQ size to 512 to prevent dropped events. [893773.394] [mi] EQ processing has resumed after 743 dropped events. [893773.394] [mi] This may be caused my a misbehaving driver monopolizing the server's resources. Package Versions ---------------- sys-libs/glibc-2.15r3 x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-319.60 x11-base/xorg-server-1.14.3-r2 Unsure what more information I can provide... (In reply to Daniel Campbell from comment #3) > Unsure what more information I can provide... Run nvidia-bug-report.sh and send it to Nvidia. This bug is super old, and nobody's commented on it since. I've not had the issue myself in quite a long time, so my best guess is the nvidia-driver was misbehaving. No version in the tree causes issues like this, so I'm closing this bug. |
