The following error is given while building dev-python/sphinx-1.1.3-r6 with MAKEOPTS="-j4" :

 * The ebuild phase 'compile' with pid 19494 appears to have left an orphan
 * process running in the background.

I was having a bad babel python package installed on the system, ok now.
