removing the first hunk of the patch (the cvs id) it applies correctly. I receive a very similar error; however, my patch fails at line 4 of patch, and I have the following faulty context: ***** net-tools-1.60-cleanup-list-handling.patch ***** ====================================================== PATCH COMMAND: patch -g0 -p0 < /usr/portage/sys-apps/net-tools/files/net-tools-1.60-cleanup-list-handling.patch ====================================================== patching file nameif.c Hunk #1 FAILED at 3. 1 out of 5 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file nameif.c.rej ====================================================== PATCH COMMAND: patch -g0 -p1 < /usr/portage/sys-apps/net-tools/files/net-tools-1.60-cleanup-list-handling.patch ====================================================== missing header for unified diff at line 4 of patch can't find file to patch at input line 4 Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
