If classified as feature request for future EAPI, it will be good, if possible, to mark not only user_patch'ed installed packages, but also, depending on present /etc/portage/patches/<CATEGORY>/<PF|P|PN>[:SLOT]/ directories see user_patch mark (for example 'up' suffix) on Available packages, targeted for applying user_patch. I would suggest to not encode such information in the version but only in a separate file in the /var/db/pkg database - this is the place where such information belongs. In this case the extension might go without EAPI bump since AFAIK the information stored in /var/db/pkg is not limited by pms. I'm closing this as dup of the user patch applying function request. We can discuss how the function works and what are the results there :). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 475288 *** |
