Xorg.0.log OK, running on kernel 3.8.1 with "integrated" gpu selected
with aticonfig --px-igpu, the X server starts up.
It's utilizing the cpu-integrated gpu.
But: KeePassX displays a window with black content area, unusable.
Other programs work alright...??
And what about 13.1 / 13.2_beta7? Created attachment 341396 [details]

module_i915_args="invert_brightness=-1" While 3.7.6 has no module video, 3.8.2 does have it (.config choices). Notable side-effect (of this?): with 3.8.2 I got my vga consoles (tty1-tty6) back. Will try 3.8.2 with /etc/conf.d/modules with everything commented out now. With 3.8.2 and /etc/conf.d/modules "empty" (just comments and empty lines), the consoles tty1..6 were still displayed. So I'd like to run 3.8.2 very much. But ati-drivers do not cope, neither 13.1 nor 13.2_beta7 run without segfaulting at start up... They do run with 3.7.6, however. So I'll check 3.7.10, next. also clean up /etc/ati as users report problems sometimes when that contains stale configuration data from previous versions. Seems to make no sense to remove that file, but if You insist on doing it, I'll try to remove amdpcsdb, reboot with 3.8.2 and 13.2_beta7 and see what happens. I don't insist on anything, I just repeat what was reported to me to make problems go away for some users. We cannot help at all in fixing the issue, and certainly nobody from AMD will look at this bug report (but they do look occasionally at ati.cchtml.com tracker I have heard). (In reply to comment #17) > We cannot help at all in fixing the issue, > and certainly nobody from AMD will look at this bug report (but they do look > occasionally at ati.cchtml.com tracker I have heard). I hope they do look at ati.cchtml.com tracker... http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732 I'll upload the log files there, too. Running 3.8.2/13.2_beta7 with "aticonfig --px-igpu" worked, as it did with 3.8.1/13.x(?). However, suspend/resume did not work - it was hanging. Of course, "px-igpu" also works with 3.7.6/13.2_beta7. Switching to px-dgpu. ati-drivers-13.3_beta2 is running with kernel gentoo-sources-3.8.4 and xf86-video-intel-2.20.13 at least since 2013-03-30 05:15:50 CDT |
