net-misc/openssh builds, but at least server part does not work properly under x32 profile and tests fail too.

Please post your `emerge --info' output in a comment.
Comment 2 Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2013-02-28 22:37:31 UTC
Unfortunately I blew my x32 project up after running into ETOOMANY issues. And forgot to save a copy of `emerge --info`.

i've used the client many times and it works fine. i don't (yet) have an x32 server running natively.

if your kernel is <linux-3.6, then the answer is "i don't care". upgrade.

Kernel was 3.8.0

Client worked fine, but server was broken (accessing remotely and locally)

at least openssh-5.2_p1 is working fine for me on x32 as a server

Do you mean 6.2_p1?

I have trouble with both openssh-6.1_p1-r1 and openssh-6.2_p1 on x32 as a server. The error from the client (on any machine, including localhost) is "Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer" -- as mentioned, this even happens when running trying to SSH to localhost from the x32 machine. Builds fine but doesn't operate.

Here is emerge --info with 6.2_p1 installed (which btw, I had to disable hpn USE flag because the patch isn't available for fetching):

I believe this bug should be reopened, since I believe all the required information has been submitted. If anything more needs to be added, I would be happy to provide it.
