Just for the record, the problem persists in the now stable 3.7.10. OK, it seems that this bug is exactly the same as the one reported at https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54331 In fact, leaving just one core online and then hibernating works just fine. Also, doing like suggested in Comment 19 there, i.e., reverting commits 715f1300802e6eaefa85f6cfc70ae99af3d5d497 and 8852aac25e79e38cc6529f20298eed154f60b574 makes hibernation work again. I don't know why my bisection yielded a different first offending commit, maybe I did something wrong. Anyway, at least there is a workaround. Can you answer the questions near the bottom of that bug? https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54331 They seem to be awaiting further details that could lead to this bug being resolved.
