Description Craig Keogh 2004-03-26 19:23:28 UTC
When you rename a launcher on gnome-panel-2.6.0 the settings are lost when you next log in.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
I wish to rename "Mozilla Firefox" to "Firefox"
1. Gnome menu -> Applications -> Internet -> right click "Mozilla Firefox"
   "Launcher Properties" dialog opens.
2. Alter "Name:" to "Firefox" and click "Close".
Observe the launcher in the gnome menu now says "Firefox"
   and file created at ~/.gnome2/vfolders/applications/1080482400-mozillafirefox.desktop
3. Log out
4. Log in
Observe the gnome menu reverts to "Mozilla Firefox". File ~/.gnome2/vfolders/applications/1080482400-mozillafirefox.desktop still exists.

The renaming launchers via nautilus "start here" also fails to remain at next log in. In addition, it doesn't effect the current session either.

This bug occurs for 3 launchers I tried, "OpenOffice.org 1.1.0 Calc" and the game "Same GNOME".

Can't reproduce with 2.8.2 - re-open if the problem still exists for you.
