I can't reproduce this with netifrc-0.1. Firstly, netifrc (and openrc-0.11.8 and previous) check for the executable existence of either /sbin/arping or /usr/sbin/arping2 in order to see if the the 'arping' module dependencies are set. For me, net-misc/iputils provides /sbin/arping. Further, starting net.eth0 with 'config_eth0="arping"' results in an attempt to use arping as it should. Could you list what USE flags you are setting on net-misc/iputils , as well as your full conf.d/net , please? Ahh, found the problem. The ~arch version of iputils changed the install path from /sbin to /bin. Updated arping module in netifrc git; will be fixed in next release. *** Bug 458082 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Thanks Ian for you work. |
