I don't know BMG ebuilds, i don't want to. version 2.7.0 != 2.8.0 so that sais like totally nothing. If you use BMG : warranty void, it's that easy. No soup for you. Ok for this one time... could you maybe post your 'emerge info' (*sigh* this _always_ be provided, then why do i _always_ have to ask for it). The metacity 2.8 ebuild is not BMG though, I don't think. I might be wrong, and if so sorry, I will report it to BMG, but it shows up in the /usr/portage/x11-wm/metacity directory, not the BMG overlay I have set, which is /usr/local/portage/x11-wm/metacity. The 2.7 version is the BMG one, which is working. Here is my emerge info: beast root # emerge info Portage 2.0.50-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.3, glibc-2.3.3_pre20040207-r0, 2.4.24-xfs-r3) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.24-xfs-r3 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.60GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.4.3.13p1 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r3 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -Os -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.1/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -Os -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/bmg-gnome-current" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X aalib accessibility alsa apm arts avi berkdb bonobo breakme cdr crypt cups dvd encode esd evo exif foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gphoto2 gpm gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile icc imlib java jpeg kde ldap libg++ libwww lirc mad mikmod mmx motif mozilla mpeg mysql ncurses nls oav oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl pic png python qt quicktime readline sdl slang spell sse sse2 ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex truetype x86 xinerama xml2 xmms xv zlib" I suppose i wasn't clear enough in my initial comment, using BMG ebuilds results in losing our support. It doesn't matter to me if you don't actually use them at this point, they were on your system : No more support. That's why i'm closing this as INVALID now. Ok back to the bug, a last hint :this is probably some sort xinerama behaviour. Try building with -xinerama . Yeah, thanks, but I had already tried that, with no success. OH well, I am sure that when more people start using 2.6, this bug will come out of the woodworks. thanks Greg I've just installed gnome-2.6_rc5 and I have found this bug too. Metacity is at version : 2.8.0 |
