Oh, apparently this is affected by what version of Perl you have: 17:05:34 < tove> which perl version is it? 5.16? 17:09:39 < Armageddon> yes 17:09:43 < Armageddon> I'm using 5.16 17:09:51 < Armageddon> 5.16.0 17:10:01 < Armageddon> something I have pulled it 17:11:25 < Armageddon> youtube-viewer needs 5.16 17:13:21 < tove> with perl-5.16 you must use ExtUtils-ParseXS-3 17:14:19 < Armageddon> how about older versions ? 17:14:23 < Armageddon> does it work fine ? 17:15:15 < tove> because if you install ExtUtils-ParseXS-2 it will use the wrong xsubpp. 17:16:39 < tove> yes, i guess rxvt-unicode will work with perl-5.12 and ExtUtils-ParseXS-3. But others won't. Broken build systems. 17:16:39 < Armageddon> does it work fine with the older version of perl ? 17:17:10 < tove> perl-5.12 and EU::PXS-2 works fine 17:17:15 < Armageddon> no, I mean will it work with perl-5.12 and PXS2 ? 17:17:17 < Armageddon> ok I second tested the whole process and @tove is correct. It should pass, I was using a newer version of perl as a dependency of an unstable youtube-viewer. It was my bad. It works fine with the current stable perl. So you're mixing stable rxvt-unicode and ExtUtils-ParseXS with unstable (dev-lang/)perl. |
