With net-misc/curl-2.29 app-emulation/vmware-player-5.0.1.894247 crashes during startup. It works fine with net-misc/curl-2.28.

Did it produce any log files or perhaps a core dump?

If not, you might want to try to run it through strace to see what it does; if you have debug symbols enabled, you could also run it to gdb to get a backtrace (`gdb program` then `run` and when it crashes type `bt`).
