Description Vladimir 2013-02-10 17:11:45 UTC
Hello!

I installed xfce-extra/tumbler-0.1.27 today, but still cannot see any thumbnails in Thunar, nor in Ristretto.

I tried to find a solution on the Internet, but people on the forums usually say that no additional settings are needed in order to get thumbnails. That is why I thought it might be a bug.

Thank you.

Reproducible: Always

using USE="gstreamer" and missing proper codecs?

No, actually I build tumbler with these USE-flags:
jpeg -curl -debug -ffmpeg -gstreamer -odf -pdf -raw

I need thumbnails for jpg and png images only.

I have submitted a new Bug 457054 about tumbler-0.1.27 because I was afraid to hijack this bug by another bug.
However, probably Vladimir and me are facing the same issue.
In my case, tumblerd gets segfault everytime. Details and backtraces are on Bug 457054.

@Vladimir, could you find "segfault" or "SIGSEGV" on your log(or dmseg)?

I can see the strings like this:

[ 7241.566938] tumblerd[9236]: segfault at 0 ip 000000000040b7d8 sp 00007fffdef51f60 error 4 in tumblerd[400000+17000]
