Would it be possible to add an ebuild for the 0.76cvs version of gaim?  That appears to fix many problems with the Yahoo! servers.

Definitely not.  I cannot guarantee stability of their CVS tree and am not in the mood to support user bugs (which I would just mark as INVALID) on it.  The Gaim developers themselves say NOT to use CVS unless you are developing against it or patching it.

gaim-0.75-r10 fixes yahoo web auth.  Yes normal yahoo auth is fixed in 0.76.

gaim 0.76 should be out relatively soon.
