Hum this looks like the "smart" symbol extraction script needs to be updated to handle whatever is particular to ppc :) Please attach the output of nm /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/gstreamer-0.10.36/work/gstreamer-0.10.36/libs/gst/base/.libs/libgstbase-0.10.so Created attachment 337792 [details] nm libgstbase-0.10.so (In reply to comment #2) > Please attach the output of > nm > /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/gstreamer-0.10.36/work/gstreamer-0.10.36/libs/ > gst/base/.libs/libgstbase-0.10.so Thanks. It seems that binutils on ppc64 uses a different layout for ELF files than on amd64. Which is OK, because the failing test is checking for windows-compatible symbol visibility - and windows compatibility is completely irrelevant on ppc64 :) + 03 Feb 2013; Alexandre Rostovtsev <tetromino@gentoo.org> + gstreamer-0.10.36.ebuild: + Disable windows-portability tests on non-x86/amd64 arches, where they can + fail due to different ELF layouts (bug #455038, thanks to Agostino Sarubbo) |
