Since dev-php/phpunit often exhibits breakages in the api between minor versions, perhaps this package should be slotted?

Slotting would mean an eselect module to handle /use/bin/phpunit as well. I think if you need a specific version of phpunit, composer is more of a solution than slotting minor versions of phpunit
