Bug 451712

Summary: net-misc/x2goserver should depend on virtual/man not sys-apps/man
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Oleh <moonlapse81>
Component: Current packagesAssignee: Gentoo NX Server project <nx>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Whiteboard:
Package list:
Runtime testing required: ---

Description Oleh 2013-01-13 14:00:12 UTC
With alternative man package, like man-db, net-misc/x2goserver should depend on virtual/man rather than sys-apps/man explicitly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge x2goserver
2. notice a block with sys-apps/man sys-apps/man-db, if latter installed.
3. changing to DEPEND="virtual/man" solves the issue
Actual Results:
[blocks B ] sys-apps/man-db ("sys-apps/man-db" is blocking sys-apps/man-1.6g)
[blocks B ] sys-apps/man ("sys-apps/man" is blocking sys-apps/man-db-2.6.3)

Total: 41 packages (41 new), Size of downloads: 28,803 kB
Conflict: 2 blocks (2 unsatisfied)

 * Error: The above package list contains packages which cannot be
 * installed at the same time on the same system.

Sadly, it requires sys-apps/man, as the dependency is for man2html binary, which is not in sys-apps/man-db (I linked the first bug report on this problem).

I added a comment in the ebuild to make it clearer though, as the Changelog was not as explicit as I remembered
