Actually, this looks more like either a parallel make failure (perhaps _gen/misc.xml isn't created yet or it's incorrectly created (that is two precesses try to create it and overwrite each other's results) ) or perhaps directory tree isn't created in the correct order and a file tries to be created in a dir that doesn't yet exists. You are right. It compiled fine with -j1. 3.8.x compiles ok for me, please retest (In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #3) > 3.8.x compiles ok for me, please retest Dear Patcho, Due to inconvenient dependecies (immature systemd deployment) and breakages (I won't cite) introduced by GNOME 3.8, I currently keep it masked (on ~arch). It's possible, that I will completely drop GNOME on my systems and move on to an alternative - if I can. I've been long moved on to XFCE and also considered LXDE. I keep GNOME only because of some applications supporting it cleverly. I think either I will only retest 3.8.x version much later or will not test it at all. I distribute my lack of time and energy to other tasks. In the mean time, thank you for your help: Dw. You shouldn't have so much problems running Gnome 3.8 with systemd-204 (or 206-r*), maybe you will need to keyword some packages to get unit files from them (bug 476034 could help you to find pending stabilizations) :/ |
