I suppose this might be related to your system being hardened. Also, please leave the decision to block stabilization to maintainers.

I run test suite on hardened system, and current stable dev-vcs/mercurial-2.4.2 doesn't fail this test (fails a couple of otheres, though).

This is obsolete. Please feel free to reopen if you still see this problem with current Mercurial.
