I can't think of anything that would make me happier than being able to mask x11-drivers/ati-drivers-*_beta*.

Right now, I'm able to do that in /etc/portage, but not in my profile.

Can the profile specification be extended in some way to allow some sane wildcarding?

We can add a new profile-formats setting for this, like we did for bug #414961.
