just an additional information. these ebuilds add support for running multiple instances of tomcat which required changes in how tomcat is configured. that means that after emerge of tomcat you have to initialize tomcat instance before you can use it. you can see more information at this wiki page: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Apache_Tomcat
