There's already a postinstall message in grub-2 mentioning the installation of os-prober: * Install sys-boot/os-prober to enable detection of other operating systems using grub2-mkconfig. IIRC the dependency on os-prober was removed because grub works without it. We usually only depend on packages that are needed to build/run the software. |
