The ebuild of rtmpdump has this: emake CC=$(tc-getCC) LD=$(tc-getLD) \ OPT="${CFLAGS}" XLDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS}" CRYPTO="${crypto}" SYS=posix || die "emake failed" Since CC and LD can contain a space when cross-compiling (example: CC="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -m32"), the results of tc-getCC and tc-getLD need quoted around them: emake CC="$(tc-getCC)" LD="$(tc-getLD)" \ OPT="${CFLAGS}" XLDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS}" CRYPTO="${crypto}" SYS=posix || die "emake failed" Otherwise GNU make complains about unknown -3 and -2 options. Probably you want to check other packages for this failure pattern. Reproducible: Always A not-so-sane workalike of the multilib-portage overlay is used on this computer.
