Something funny is happening with autotools, but I am not sure what. It is generating checks like this:
if test "$GCC" = yes; then
CFLAGS="-g -O2"
else
CFLAGS="-g"
fi
but I can't figure out why.
That's part of the default and is not what's causing the problem, this is:
if test "x$want_debug" = "xyes"
then
export CFLAGS="-O2 -g -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -pg $extra_C_flags"
else
export CFLAGS="-O3 -std=gnu99 -Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer $extra_C_flags"
fi
(-ffast-math? WTF).
Heh, I already patched that out, but failed to notice that it says CFLAGS=, not CFLAGS+=. Thanks. np — but do note that += iirc is not in dash, so you might want to do CFLAGS="${CFLAGS} whatever" instead.
Thanks, fixed in CVS. I will file a stable request in 30 days. + 19 Nov 2012; Michael Palimaka <kensington@gentoo.or> + +files/gcam-2010.07.27-cflags.patch, +gcam-2010.07.27-r1.ebuild, + gcam-9999.ebuild: + Respect CFLAGS wrt bug #442282.
