Yes, I know. The reason is: sympy is shipped with an embedded mpmath, which is modified as compared to the stand-alone mpmath. In Gentoo, sympy is heavily patched to exclude all places which refer to the embedded mpmath, and to use the system mpmath instead. And this patch has to be changed with each version (it becomes larger all the time). And it breaks tests. So, either we insist on using the system mpmath, or we want all tests to pass.
