what is the model number of your controller? It's a AHA-2940U2W supported by the aic7xxx kernel driver. I have only SATA disks on my system, but use this older SCSI controller to drive peripheric devices like CD-ROM, CD-Burner ... In the Gentoo-AMD64 forum another user was asking the same question and was searching for a different Live-CD containing the aic7xxx kernel module. Note: the aic79xx on the AMD64-Gentoo LiveCD support a different kind of Adaptec controllers. Adaptec SCSI support was not included in the kernel, but was built as a module. aic7xxx and aic79xx will be included in the 2004.1 LiveCD uniprocessor and smp kernels (but obviously not the emachines kernel). |
