Does this also appear with $kernelname-nofb (i.e. framebuffer switched off) ? Yes, it does appear when uesing gentoo nofb. The only way I could install gentoo is to use gentoo vga=0 (which I found mentioned in another bug report.) I suggest that this option be added to the installation manual and the options listed when you press F-2 when booting up. forwarding to the docs team Isn't vga=0 the default (i.e. 80x25)? If the LiveCD takes vga=3 as default (80x26) then I would understand the bugreport and poke the LiveCD peeps to use the 80x25 as default, but afaik it already is defaulted. I don't believe an update to the documentation is needed in this case. Bug timed out. |
