Has nothing to do with whether package is new install. As in bug 440486 and bug 440496, I think that even though the message is still valid, the user is interested in such an information when the package is installed, but IMHO it's not interesting for the user after an upgrade. Maybe could be solved adding a "svg" USE flag to pull in that needed dependency :/ (In reply to comment #3) > Maybe could be solved adding a "svg" USE flag to pull in that needed > dependency :/ If we did that, we would then upset the people who are against USE flags that do not affect how the package is built. I guess the best solution is the optional depend support that was discussed, but momentum for that idea seems to have run out? I also forgot how that topic ended finally in gentoo-dev :S |
