This isn't really a bug at all, well, maybe a bug in the mirror you were using. Use more mirrors or don't set mirror at all in make.conf and then it will resort to working one. But I've made an exception with 171-r8: 01 Nov 2012; Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> udev-171-r8.ebuild: Update HOMEPAGE and SRC_URI from latest stable wrt #440408 But please don't file "bugs" like these more, if you need help setting up your make.conf, use http://forums.gentoo.org/ I tried to state clearly that I'm not sure it's a bug in portage, the question being wether portage relies on a working gentoo mirror during package _build time_ (not only for syncing the tree). Since this seems to be the case (which I would have expected otherwise), this renders this "bug" report invalid, of course. Thanks for bothering! |
