dev-ml/type-conv-108.07.01 fails to fetch from the mirrors due to the file not
existing there, and then fails to fetch from SRC_URI since emerge fails to
validate the server's SSL certificate.

If the file was on the mirror then presumably this would work fine, but as the
ebuild has apparently been in the tree for 8 days now and still isn't on the
mirror, perhaps the mirroring is running into the same problem?

FWIW, Firefox seems happy with the upstream server's certificate.

Also, this seems to be affecting more than just the one package: dev-ml/sexplib-108.07.01 fails in the same way.

yep, i've mirrored them here:
http://dev.gentoo.org/~aballier/distfiles/
and updated the ebuilds, please sync in a few hours and try again, this should work now
