I'm installing dbus on a system which is NOT ARCH="~x86", only packages I need are. I did not have glib installed so dbus died on configure complaining that it couldn't find glib-2.0.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Emerge DBUS on a system without glib
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
Emerge failed

Expected Results:  
Emerge succeeded

It seems glib is not strictly necessary for DBUS. Could the ebuild be changed to
check for glib and configure apropriatly?

the dbus ebuild is not nearly finished, like the upstream pack itself. There is a glib dep in the ebuild, but it's not completely correct.

Does base-system mind if i take this up when i have some spare time? There's a lot broken in this ebuild.

fixed the dbus deps in 0.21
