@kernel: Any ideas? What audio hardware is that? Did you enable/disable echo reduction in gmail setting? Audio hardware is embedded Realtek ALC892. No audio problems with previous kernels nor any other audio problems with 3.6.0 outside of Google-Talk. Echo cancellation is on although it is not an echo issue. Will even get garbly distortion when listening to the ring when calling. Note that the Realtek ALC892 uses the Intel HDA driver. I should also mention, in order to provide an additional clue where the problem might lie is that the "video" is also distorted. More specifically, as an example, is that when I get an incoming call the little pop-up box announcing the call is visually distorted as well. Backing down into kernel-3.5.x eliminates this. Video is nVidia. I'm marking this as resolved for now as the problem has disappeared with the installation of kernel 3.6.2. |
