The log shows this error message: ecompressdir: bzip2 -9 /usr/share/man /usr/lib/portage/bin/ebuild-helpers/ecompressdir: line 59: /dev/fd/62: No such file or directory It seems to indicate that the __redirect_alloc_fd function from /usr/lib/portage/bin/helper-functions.sh is not behaving correctly. Maybe rebuild bash to see if that helps. Well, I rebuilt world on that system with --emptytree three times, and now remerging xz-utils gives me /usr/share/man/man1/unxz.1.bz2 symlinked to xz.1.bz2, so I guess that fixed it. Thanks for showing my system was borked :P. (Note: I did emptytree world rebuilds because of system migrations requiring changes in my -march value in CFLAGS; let's just say it was a fun process.) Okay, I guess there's nothing to do unless somebody can figure out how to reproduce this particular kind of app-shells/bash-4.2_p37 breakage. |
