according to this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/hugin/+bug/1048799
Hugin 2011.0 and later versions before 2012.0 have an issue with boost versions greater than 1.47...issue which is corrected in Hugin version 2012.0
I suggested here https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388149
to block, in the ebuild, boost version greater than 1.47 in 2011.0 Hugin ebuilds series.
To allow guys using for any reasons boost versions greater the 1.47 , and be able to compile Hugin as well, it would be great to have an ebuild for 2012.0 version.

hugin-2012.0.0 was released several days ago.
