Is this feature even available in stock Bugzilla? If not, this should probably be created upstream (bugzilla.org) as an enhancement request. Actually I must admit after investigating Bugzilla sources at http://bzr.mozilla.org/bugzilla/trunk/files that there is no support for compressed patches at all. Somehow I was sure I uploaded gzipped patched somewhere (to Bugzilla of course) and they were handled properly. That's why I assumed unsupported XZ is a matter of configuration rather than development. In such case this bug probably should be forwarded upstream. Will you do it? I am definitely interested in the functionality but I'm not sure I have the time to track it right now. If you do submit it, definitely add me to CC: auto-detect option properly detects XZ. just isn't available in the drop down. Transparent handling of compressed patches is something that really belongs upstream. |
