I can't reproduce this. I'm on a stable amd64 system too, using the same USE-flags, same boost, same CFLAGS. Can you try without ccache, please? I suspect a bug there when the preprocessed files are huge (which they are for gigi). No change for FEATURES="-ccache", but it works if it does _not_ swap out which means users with less than 4GB ram will very likely not be able to compile this at all. Users with 4GB ram might have to compile this with X killed. This behavior may further be impacted by cflags or even gcc-versions. But, granted, compiler bugs are strange. In fact, my machine also swapped during this compile (I ran with -j5). I'll check this on a virtual machine later. obsolete, is it? Right, gigi is marked for removal in about two weeks. |
