Filed bug in wrong place, also where did you experience this bug along with what kernel? Might want to add "emerge --info" as well since the bug doesn't say anything more than "my system doesn't work" sorry=P I posted the kernel (did u see uname output i.e.2.4.22-gentoo-r5), and I doesnt say simply "doesnt work".. I have explained that i tried different variants compiling the kernel.. and that only disabling HIGHMEM solved the problem.. already 9 days uptime Here is the output of emerge info : Portage 2.0.49-r21 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.4.22-gentoo-r5) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.22-gentoo-r5 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.60GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.4.3.10 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -mcpu=pentium4 -O3 -pipe -mno-sse2" CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/bind /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -mcpu=pentium4 -O3 -pipe -mno-sse2" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" USE="apm avi berkdb crypt cups encode foomaticdb gdbm gif gpm gtk2 imlib jpeg libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl svga tcpd truetype x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib" Okay, would you be able to confirm this issue on vanilla-sources-2.4.20 using a "crashing" configuration as you did for gentoo-sources? Thanks! How about a newer kernel? Does it still crash? Bug is being closed due to lack of user input. |
