Removal of config.h.ed happened ~3 weeks ago here (ChangeLog):

  Fix build with metalink + gnutls, bug 428592. Cleaned out unused patch files.

This file is still needed for net-misc/curl-7.24.0, build.log is attached.

Please use a newer version.  I've taken curl-7.24.0 off the tree.  That approach to config.h and curlbuild.h were incorrect.
