Description Rabbe Fogelholm 2012-08-29 16:29:47 UTC
I am trying out the interactive bootstrap-prefix.sh script and I get a stage1 failure that looks similar to bug 381163 symptom-wise.

Host system: Ubuntu 12.04.1, "precise", LTS

As a workaround I have tried to comment out the stage 1 line that bootstraps python. This gets me further at least up to the point where binutils bootstrapping begins.

The host system Python version is 2.7.3. Let me know if I should provide more info.

"multiarch" ubuntu is bound to fail at lots of things =/

Maybe so .. that's why I want to install a healthy Gentoo Prefix on top :)

We don't need nis and crypt, so I disabled them. But Ubuntu is broken By Design(tm).
