The xmmplayer ebuild is two versions out of date.  Some rather serious bug fixes are missed, because of this.  The changelog is posted at

Here's the fix:

cd /usr/portage
cp media-plugins/xmmplayer/xmmplayer-0.3.1.ebuild media-plugins/xmmplayer/xmmplayer-0.3.3.ebuild

Anyone up to adding it to portage?
