The glxext provided by eselect-opengl is version 32, but the version provided by current mesa is 33.  In particular, the type of glXSwapIntervalEXT has changed from void to int. This mismatch causes problems compiling vlc-2.0.1

wow - sorry. I got that backwards. The eselect-opengl version is 33 and Mesa's is 32. vlc-2.0.1 won't compile against 33.

I think the problem I'm really seeing here is with nvidia opengl, and manifests as bug #405173
