http://wiki.gentoo.org redirects to http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Main_Page, where the second directory "/wiki/" has no meaning. Stripping this dir gives a cleaner url.

It's the standard rewriting setup used by wikipedia as well. Not keen on changing it.
