Please run "revdep-rebuild" or in case of portage-2.2 emerge @preserved-rebuild. Hi, Thanks for the rapid response! I do this every time I update (about once every week or two). Doing it now - we get :- HP astaines # revdep-rebuild * Configuring search environment for revdep-rebuild * Checking reverse dependencies * Packages containing binaries and libraries broken by a package update * will be emerged. * Collecting system binaries and libraries * Generated new 1_files.rr * Collecting complete LD_LIBRARY_PATH * Generated new 2_ldpath.rr * Checking dynamic linking consistency [ 66% ] * broken /usr/lib/kde4/rocs_transformedgesplugin.so (requires rocs_GraphStructure.so) [ 73% ] * broken /usr/lib/libkdeui.so.5.8.0 (requires libattica.so.0.3) * broken /usr/lib/libknewstuff3.so.4.8.0 (requires libattica.so.0.3) [ 100% ] * Generated new 3_broken.rr * Assigning files to packages * /usr/lib/kde4/rocs_transformedgesplugin.so -> kde-base/rocs * /usr/lib/libkdeui.so.5.8.0 -> kde-base/kdelibs * /usr/lib/libknewstuff3.so.4.8.0 -> kde-base/kdelibs * Generated new 4_raw.rr and 4_owners.rr * Cleaning list of packages to rebuild * Generated new 4_pkgs.rr * Assigning packages to ebuilds * Generated new 4_ebuilds.rr * Evaluating package order * Generated new 5_order.rr * All prepared. Starting rebuild emerge --complete-graph=y --oneshot kde-base/kdelibs:4 kde-base/rocs:4 .......... Calculating dependencies... done! >>> Verifying ebuild manifests >>> Running pre-merge checks for kde-base/kdelibs-4.8.3 >>> Starting parallel fetch >>> Emerging (1 of 2) kde-base/kdelibs-4.8.3 * kdelibs-4.8.3.tar.xz SHA256 size ;-) ... [ ok ] * Handbook support is enabled via KDE_HANDBOOK=optional in the ebuild. * Please do not just set IUSE=handbook, as this leads to dependency errors. >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking kdelibs-4.8.3.tar.xz to /var/tmp/portage/kde-base/kdelibs-4.8.3/work Now waiting to see what happens. will report the outcome, Thanks again, Anthony Revdep-rebuild fixes it, Thanks again, Anthony |
