When I try to emerge java-gtk I get this compilation error

Fixed in portage, added the necessary deps :P *OOPS*!

Sorry, but the compilation still fails with the same error.

this is a problem with gcj, and i can't reproduce it anymore, what gcc version did you use?, updated the ebuild(gcj useflag), since building with gcj is optional, and never gcc ebuilds don't include it by default
