bug with evolution and smtp auth.

Nearly the same as:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30865
But I do have  2.3.2-r9 glibc

glibc:
Latest version installed: 2.3.2-r9
evolution:
Latest version installed: 1.4.5
kernel 2.6.3-gentoo-r1

After removing commented and empty lines from /etc/hosts evolution would smtp auth.
