mbm-gps-control patch

Description Christian Samsel 2012-07-26 10:20:25 UTC
These are required to use the GPS receiver found on serveral mobile broadband cards, like the Dell 5530 et al.

as the gps receiver is found on a wireless card i'd suggest

net-wireless/mbm-gpsd (sci-geosciences does not seem approriate)

Unfortunately upstream does not provide packages nor version numbers so the ebuild uses the git repository.

mbm-gpsd-9999.ebuild has an issue with the udev rule, but i dont know how to fix that.

Reproducible: Always

Okay I would be interested because I happen to own such a laptop and card... but can you see if it's possible to have a non-live ebuild? If you can make a snapshot, and you feel like you could proxy co-maintain this I'd be happy to get them in.

(I just need to find a cheap SIM card in the US to put on this laptop..)

well i guess i will contact upstream first... maybe they think the same anyways. i suppose without releases they wont get it in any distro anyways. i'll report back. if that does not work we can still point releasing ourselfs.

I ask on the mailing list and the developer directly, no response. i guess we have to work it out on our on. i will prepare a snapshot and ebuilds.
