Samba compile errors and points to errors in /usr/include/linux. I emerged linux-headers 2.6.1 and tried emerging SAMBA again, it worked fine.

re-emerge linux-headers (you're using an old one anyways)

er, i forgot to say i was using 2.6.3-r1, not 2.6.3

either way you need to re-emerge them
