Currently we have the documents:

http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/java/tomcat-guide.xml
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/java/tomcat6-guide.xml

I suggest to unify those docs on wiki.gentoo.org and update them to tomcat 6/7.

The wiki should probably also cover:
- basic usage of the tomcat-instance-manager.bash
- usage with netbeans/eclipse
- tips on hardening the instance.

Why does this blocks bug 428002? Are there any significant configuration changes in the recent versions, so it can not be stabilized before documentation update?

i have created the wiki page: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Apache_Tomcat

we just need to confirm that it makes sense and does not omit any important information. after that this bug can be closed.
