erm.. we don't need 'anacron' to have a functional system. Ppl who really needs it can emerge it whenever they like, the guide is just a guide to set up ur base Gentoo box. Marking this as WONTFIX. If you don't need anacron, why do you need cron? A cron is indeed a great tool and GDP recommands vixie-cron in the installation instruction. However, installing whatever-cron is based on each user's preference. cron does not help if the system is shut down, then you need anacron. So anacron is a great tool as well ;-) Gentoo is choice. We introduce softwares but not forcing users. Ok, you've won ;) |
